Arrival by Train

All long-distance trains stop at the Munich Central Station (“Hauptbahnhof“) right on the edge of the downtown area. A great number of hotels of every category are located nearby.

By Plane

The suburban train lines S1 and S8 will take you from the airport right to the city center.

By Car

If you are driving to the Alte Kongresshalle, you will find public parking in the immediate vicinity on Theresienwiese, at the Heimeranplatz Park & Ride car park at Garmischerstrasse 19, or in the public underground car park at Gollierstrasse 4.

By public transport

From Munich Central Station (“Hauptbahnhof“), the Alte Kongresshalle is a ten-minute journey by U-Bahn (underground / subway) on the U 4 line in the direction of Westendstrasse or the U 5 in the direction of Laimer Platz; in both cases, alight at Schwanthalerhöhe.

• By U-Bahn (underground / subway):
  U 4 / U 5 (direction Westendstrasse): alight at Schwanthalerhöhe
• By S-Bahn (rapid transit train, suburban train):
  S 7 / S 20 / S 27: (direction Wolfratshausen): alight at Heimeranplatz
  Change to the U 4 or U 5 and alight at Schwanthalerhöhe
• By bus:
  Metrobus 53: Schwanthalerhöhe stop
  Stadtbus 134: Theresienhöhe or Schwanthalerhöhe stops
  Stadtbus 131: Hans-Fischer-Strasse stop

Arrival by Plane, Train, or Public Transport

From Munich Central Station (Hauptbahnhof):
Take the S5 toward Kreuzstraße and get off at Neuperlach Süd, or
Take the U5 toward Neuperlach Süd and get off at the final stop.
From Munich Airport:
Take the S8 to Ostbahnhof.
From there, continue on the S5 or U5 to Neuperlach Süd.
From Neuperlach Süd Station:
Take bus 217 (toward Unterhaching) or bus 199 (toward Campeon).
Get off at the third stop: Universitätsstraße (approximately 6 minutes).

By car

From the A8 Motorway:

• Take exit Neubiberg (92b) and follow the signs toward Unterhaching/Perlach.
• After approximately 400 m, turn right at the traffic lights toward Unterhaching.
• After another 50 m, turn left at the next traffic lights toward Unterbiberg.
• Continue along the main road for about 1,000 m. The entrance to Bundeswehr University Munich will be on your right.
